About soco farm

SoCo Farm is our slice of heaven on the south coast of New South Wales, nestled on a hill between the historic town of Berry and Seven Mile Beach National Park. With spectacular views of the ocean on one side, and the escarpment on the other, it would be hard to imagine a more idyllic and magical piece of earth anywhere!

When we bought the property six years ago, it had been on the market for many months - it had little in the way of street appeal. Neglected, dilapidated and forlorn, any sensible person could see that to take it on was to open a big hole on the ground and start shovelling money in, fast. Well, what can I say? The hole is pretty much full now, but it has given back to us in spades. We renovated the house, planted an extensive garden, re-fenced the paddocks, put in dams, added animals, subtracted ugliness and forlornness… and SoCo Farm came back to the land of the living.

We now have a much loved mob of cross-breed Border Leicester sheep and produce grass fed lamb for our local clients, including some of Berry’s top restaurants. We also have a small herd of miniature belted galloway cattle which we intend to breed from in the future - but right now, they earn their keep by entertaining us with their hilarious antics and their irresistible cuteness! A single alpaca named Bonnie completes the family. We did have a Clyde - but he shook off his mortal coil a year ago and Bonnie is now internet dating to find a new life partner. Keep your fingers crossed! And last but not least, we have a thriving colony of honey bees who supply us with delicious honey and four chooks who delight us with their eggs daily.
